In MOST LIKELY TO DIE, it's been twenty years since Jake Marcott was brutally murdered at the St. Elizabeth's High School Valentine's Day dance. It's a night that shattered the lives of three girls in Jake's life—Lindsay Farrell, Kirsten Daniels, and Rachel Alsace. It's a night they'll never forget. A killer will make sure of that.

A 20-year reunion has been scheduled for St. Elizabeth's. For some alumni, very special invitations have been sent: their smiling senior pictures slashed by an angry red line. Three women have been marked for death. Tonight, as the music plays, and the doors of St. Elizabeth are sealed, a killer will finish what was started long ago, and the sins of the past will be paid for in blood.

At long last, I’ve jumped into the social networking craze. My brilliant husband, Mark, and our pals and former ad agency colleagues Peter Meluso and Ed Dintrone over at Acquaint Interactive, have created a personal social networking site just for me. Please come on over to www.wendycorsistaubcommunity.com to visit my discussion forums, read my blog, see tour photos, and learn the story behind the story of DYING BREATH via my innovative read-along-with-Wendy event!

I’ve also set up a myspace page at  http://www.myspace.com/wendytheauthor. Calla, the teenaged heroine of my Lily Dale Books, has a page there, too: www.myspace.com/lilydalebooks. You can read her blog and see photos of the real spiritualist town, Lily Dale, in upstate New York.

I was thrilled just to have been nominated for an RT Career Achievement in Suspense award this spring, alongside the venerable Andrea Kane, Karen Rose, and Karin Slaughter. Imagine my astonishment and joy when I won the category and was presented with the award itself at the RT Booklovers Convention in Pittsburgh this month! I’m grateful to the terrific folks at Romantic Times. You can read more about the convention here: www.romantictimes.com.

My Fifty-State book tour is continuing through 2008 and beyond. Last year, I added a dozen new states during a month-long visit to the Pacific Northwest. Now I'm working on a new tour schedule, so check my What's New page often to see if I'll be visiting your state this year!

I’m also venturing overseas, so if you're an aspiring writer who loves to travel, here's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to join me this summer under the Tuscan sun! In cooperation with Il Chiostro, the renowned La Jolla Writers Conference is venturing overseas to Tuscany from June 28-July 5. I'll be there, along with noted literary publicist Antoinette Kuritz and agent Taryn Fagerness, to present a full week of lectures and workshops. Check out the courses and the stunning setting here: http://www.ilchiostro.com/San%20Fedele-Writing.htm

April 29, 2008, marks a career milestone with the release of not one, but THREE books: two brand new suspense novels, as well as the trade paperback edition of my fall hardcover.

DYING BREATH (Zebra Books) features a stay-at-home-mom who is tormented by premonitions of children in danger-and terrified when she begins to have visions involving her own daughter. You can find out more about DYING BREATH on my WHAT'S NEW page, and read the prologue by clicking the Excerpts tab at left. It received a four-star review from RT Bookreviews Magazine: “Staub's books, filled with emotion and terrifying details, are impossible to put down.” Armchair Interviews also gave it a rave: “Wendy Corsi Staub has been compared to Mary Higgins Clark for good reason.”

LILY DALE: BELIEVING (Walker Books for Young Readers), is the second installment in my YA paranormal series for young adults. You can read the first chapter by clicking the Excerpt tab at left, and listen to a podcast interview by clicking HERE. If you missed the series debut title, now is the time to pick up LILY DALE: AWAKENING, new in paperback. The third title in the series, LILY DALE: CONNECTING, will be out in November.

July 1, 2008, marks a similar milestone, with TWO brand new Wendy Markham novels released that day as well:

Loyal readers who can't get enough of my chick lit heroine Tracey Spadolini can look for the next sequel, SLIGHTLY SUBURBAN, from Red Dress Ink. Now that she’s been SLIGHTLY SINGLE, SLIGHTLY SETTLED, SLIGHTLY ENGAGED, and SLIGHTLY MARRIED, she’s decided the grass is looking greener beyond New York City.

If you’ve met and fallen in love with the Chickalini family in my ongoing series from Warner (THE NINE MONTH PLAN, ONCE UPON A BLIND DATE, and BRIDE NEEDS GROOM)—here comes the latest installment! In THAT'S AMORE, kid brother Ralphie is the hero, trying to deal with the realization that he'll never see his late father again...or will he?! There’s a fun hint of supernatural in the mix, and a reappearance by Madame Tamar, the matchmaking gypsy fortune-teller. Here’s an early review from the esteemed Library Journal: “Markham doesn’t play this one predictably, adding a few twists and sweet turns until our lovers realize home is truly where your heart is.”

For an autographed copy of a current release or any of my in-print backlist titles, contact The Book Nook in Dunkirk, NY. It's my all-time favorite independent bookstore, and was the first important stepping stone on career path: I worked there throughout my college years. Call (716) 366-0685 or email booknook@netsync.net and my good friends, owners Rick and Patty Donovan, will be happy to help!

With five new titles and a reissued thriller out in 2008 from four different publishers under two different names, I’m busier than ever before. Be sure to pop in often and check for updates. Leave me a note on my guestbook, and remember, I can't respond unless you include your email address in the body of the note!
